LunarG has enhanced the Vulkan Configurator, also known as vkconfig! Read on for links to a LunarG white paper and a video demo that introduce enhancements to this powerful Vulkan developer tool.
What is the Vulkan Configurator
The Vulkan Configurator, also called vkconfig, is a powerful, easy-to-use Vulkan developer tool that manages your system’s automatically loaded (or implicit) layer environment and essentially puts you in charge of your system’s Vulkan implicit layer configuration.
Vkconfig Features
Vkconfig provides several valuable features: 1) allows developers to override the layers’ configuration used by Vulkan applications at runtime, 2) allows the layer configuration to be overridden using vkconfig globally or for a selected list of Vulkan applications, and 3) allows developers to use layers from user-defined directories.
How do I get it?
Vkconfig is delivered with the Vulkan SDK and is available for Windows, Linux, and macOS operating systems.
How do I learn more?
We’ve prepared both a video demo and a white paper to help you get the most out of our Vulkan Configurator improvements.
